Aesthetic injectable companies. Holland & Barrett bans chemical sunscreen; launches own-brand mineral range

Biorevitalization

THE WHAT? Holland & Barrett has made its entire suncare range reef safe by banning the sale of all sun care products containing the ingredients Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, said to be damaging for the ocean, from all nationwide stores and on its website.

THE DETAILS The retailer will now offer only 100 percent mineral suncare products across its full range.

To coincide with the ban, Holland & Barrett has launched its own sunscreen range with an advanced mineral, liquid formulation in SPFs 15, 30 and 50.

Meso Therapy

Products come in packaging made from recycled plastic and are available now in stores and via the Holland & Barrett website.

THE WHY? Jo Cooke, Beauty Trading Director, Holland & Barrett, comments: “As a business that cares about the wellness of people and our planet, we’re constantly looking at ways to help make beauty shopping more sustainable.

“When countries started banning chemical suncare ingredients we felt we had to act too. This move gives our beauty customers a range where they do not have to make a choice between being environment safe or skin safe in the sun.”
