THE WHAT? Indian cosmetics and fashion retailer Nykaa has reported a Q3 YOY net profit drop of 59.5 percent, falling to 279.3 million rupees (US$3.73 million).

THE DETAILS According to Nykaa parent company FSN E-Commerce Ventures, total costs rose 46.8 per cent year on year to 10.67 billion rupees, including a jump in employee benefits expenses.

THE WHY? Nykaa was said to be hit by a jump in expenses and lacklustre demand for personal care and fashion products. 

The profit dive followed a 96 percent slump in quarterly profit reported in November, in its first IPO earnings report.
