THE WHAT? Lush has stopped all supplies from reaching Russia during the country’s invasion of Ukraine, however it has been prevented from closing retail stores as they are controlled by a Russian businessman.
THE DETALS According to a statement, Lush has suspended online sales and is attempting to buy out the businessman’s shares in the Ukraine.
THE WHY? Lush said, “Our Russian and Ukrainian businesses are Associate companies, both 65% owned by a Russian citizen who had built the business over 20 years to 48 shops in Russia and 15 in Ukraine.”
Lush has said that the Russian sanctions would likely ‘not pose a material risk to the Group.”
The ethical company has also set up a relief fund for the Ukrainian people to provide support to citizens.
